Overview
St. Ignatius Parish is seeking a dynamic, devoted, collaborative leader to serve as the parish Director of Music & Liturgy. This full-time, salaried, exempt position reports to the pastor; salary is commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
Qualifications
Some experience with a strong background in both traditional and contemporary sacred music
High proficiency in organ and piano playing
Strong ability in forming and directing cantors, choirs, and other musicians
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with parish staff and volunteers
Familiarity with Catholic liturgical principles
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
Responsibilities
Plans, prepares, and plays music for all daily/weekend Masses and other liturgies
Plans funeral liturgies with bereaved families
Plans wedding liturgies with engaged couples
Directs and forms choirs with rehearsals, for Masses, and other special liturgies
Forms and collaborates with parish instrumentalists to provide music for Masses
Maintains music library with appropriate selections for various liturgical occasions
Reports music usage via One License and CCLI.
Coordinates various liturgical duties in cooperation with the pastor.
Serves as point-person for liturgical communications
